Volunteer Ideas

Below are some volunteer ideas if you’re looking for someplace to start.

I’m starting with Riverwood, as that’s where I do most of my volunteering. I think the best thing is to determine what you’re passionate about and then go from there. My goal for this page is it starts your synapsis firing so you figure out where your passion lies. And, yes, many (maybe all) are on another page on my site.

Riverwood Covenant Church

I would be remiss if I didn’t start with the church that has so significantly contributed to my spiritual growth. Riverwood website.

Come as you are now and where you are now in your faith journey. Riverwood welcomes anyone just starting “to check out this Jesus thing” to the most deeply devoted worshiper. Give Jesus a chance.

Riverworks Food Shelf

Tammi and crew do such a fantastic job. They help about 115 households each month distributing about 13,000 pounds of food. Over a third of the people they help are children. Another fine example of a Christian organization that helps any and all they can regardless of personal or religious background. The Food Shelf website.

2nd Harvest Food Shelf

A little more national organization in case, by chance, someone actually visits this site who lives outside Rockford, Greenfield, or the surrounding communities.

In the greatest country in the history of the world, it’s my belief no one should go hungry. http://www.2harvest.org

World Vision

World Vision serves alongside the poor and oppressed as a demonstration of God’s unconditional love for all people. World Vision serves every child we can, of any faith or none. They specialize in clean water. $50 brings a person clean water for life.

You can also sponsor a child. Please check out World Vision.

May you experience the personal growth and joy of finding a space to share your God-given gifts
