Hi. I’m Erik. Thanks for stopping by. Originally, a requirement for my Master’s program, I now maintain the site as a hobby. If you want to reach me, I’ve provided a contact button below.
This site is where I post things that interest me or that I’m passionate about, and provides a space if I want to share something longer than what I want to put on social media or that may be more personal and not for everyone.

About
Personal
The two best parts about me are inter-connected: I’m a practicing Christian and married to Kerrie. How are they connected? Kerrie is one of the most spiritual people I’ve ever met and she truly helps me find the best in me.
Do you know why Christians refer to themselves as practicing Christians? It’s because we know we don’t have it perfect yet. If you and I meet and I fall short of the Christian ideal, don’t fault God for my shortcomings.
In addition to being a Christian and a husband, I’m also a father, grandfather, patriot, active church member, working professional, and I think I’m a pretty good friend.

People, Places, Causes, and Tools
People with whom I enjoy doing business, sites I find fascinating, causes I support, and tools I refuse to live without.
People
We should all find people with whom we like doing business and then do our best to support and promote them.
Places and Causes
Some of us have money; all of us have time and talents. Use yours to make the world better for all of us and for those who follow us. You’ll be amazed at how much you get out of giving.
Tools
Software, programs, processes, etc. that I’ve found help my productivity and efficiency. Some of them even enrich my life.

My Thoughts
Here I’ll post what’s on my mind. In the beginning, I suspect it will be mostly financial posts.
- Mission Trip to Eastern UgandaI recently returned from a mission trip to Eastern Uganda. There were 5 of us in country, but many more people contributing with donations, through prayer, and by helping us get ready. Additionally, we all had family and friends help us get ready, get to the airport, pick us up, and keep things running at… Continue Reading →
- The REAL student interest loan rateIn my opinion, the banks, your school, the government all legally lie to you about the interest rate you pay on your student loans. This is based on observation and experience that I share further on in this post if you care to learn. My son took out two student loans to help pay for… Continue Reading →

Something to Think About
I’ve seen other sites list quotes that inspired the site owner. I thought this was a pretty cool idea, so there’s a link below to some that I find inspiring. I may have lost track of who said these first but I am not taking credit for any of them.

Become a Volunteer
It often feels like just getting by is a large enough life challenge. I get it. Sharing your talents and very limited time with someone who will be unable to repay your generosity may feel like one more responsibility, chore, or burden. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Please, pick one area and give of your time, talent, and experience. Initially, just do it six times: six weekly events or 6 months for a monthly opportunity. At the end of the trial period, I think you will be surprised at how the experience positively impacts you and the amazing impact you can have on someone else’s life.
I speak from experience; I did not start adulthood as a giver. I started small and have gradually grown in what and how I give. This is not a boast. Many people give far more than I ever will, but I give. That’s my story. Here, I hope to encourage you to write your volunteerism story.
